In a statement made available to Vanguard yesterday, NAIS, congratulated Mr. G. Akperi on his appointment and charged him to defend and uphold the interest of Itsekiri in the commission by attracting massive infrastructural development to Iwere land, just as they further urged him to “steer clear of mediocrity to avoid jeopardising the aim of his appointment.”

“The ICPC’s investigation into these grave allegations is unhurried and lacks transparency. They are merely confirming being in possession of a petition said to have been filed in March, three months after. The Commission should update Nigerians on the progress of their investigation but they are not doing that.

I want to use this medium to thank all those who assisted directly or indirectly to ensure the release of my mother and a special thank to the press, especially Vanguard, for the support throughout this trying period.
