No fewer than two people, suspected to be okada riders, lost their lives with one seriously injured yesterday in a gun battle between the members of the Joint Operation Flush, which comprised the Police and Military, and members of the Achaba Riders, popularly known as Okada, in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State.

The Action Congress (AC) has accused the Bauchi State Government of colluding with INEC and the police to truncate the holding of the state constituency by-election for Gamawa by obtaining a spurious court injunction restraining INEC from conducting the poll as scheduled on October 17th.
