Timber dealers attack C-River anti-deforestation task force men
There has been growing conflict between the timber dealers and the Anti-deforestation Task Force since it was set up. It came to a head Tuesday, July 22nd, when some timber dealers attacked men of the task force, inflicting bodily harm on the team leader of the Ikom Surveillance Unit of the task Force, Mr. Effa Okongo when the unit accosted a pontoon loaded with timber on its way to Lagos.
