FOR an enduring period now, the media has remained awash with damning stories all around the oil subsidy probe and related issues. A lot of uncovering has been and is still being done by various panels instituted by the Federal Government and the National Assembly. Nigerians are taking sides based on their different perceptions and interpretation of the reports of the panels.

Chamberlin Oyibocha Orovwuje a scion of the Orovwuje dynasty of Okpara Inland, His Royal Highness, Ogurime- Rime, Okpara 1, and King (Ovie) of Agbon Kingdom (The Agbon Kingdom is made of sub clan of Okpara, Kokori, Eku, Ovu, Igun, Orhuakpor) in Ethiope East Local Government of Delta State who joined his ancestors in June 2012 at the age of 77. He ascended the throne in 1958 as a student of the famous Saint Thomas College, Ibusa at the age of 23.

I bring the felicitations of the good people, the Government of Nigeria and its public service to this most esteemed gathering. Stepping onto this platform today raises a whole new emotion that I have never felt before in spite of the fact that the very act of mounting platforms has incidentally characterised my many years in the public service. This particular act undoubtedly, marks a watershed in my career as a civil servant.

IN life, only very few things are as painful and psychologically enervating as the experience of being vilified by the public for taking a position which you know is right while the criticizing majority is gullibly led in the opposite direction which you know is patently wrong.

THE University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan, is not new to scoring “first”. Apart from maintaining the enviable record as the premier teaching hospital in Nigeria, having been established by an Act of Parliament in 1952, it has scored several other “firsts” and has, over the years, built a tradition and legacy of excellence in healthcare service delivery to its numerous patients and/or clients.
