During a recent visit of President Goodluck Jonathan to Kenya, he implored African leaders to get rid of policies that are capable of obstructing intra-African trade and the unity of the continent.

On Tuesday, October 22, 2013, women numbering hundreds from all over Imo State arrived Owerri in hired buses and hit the streets of the state capital carrying placards with many and varied inscriptions some of which read: ‘Federal Government leave Okorocha alone’, ‘EFCC leavel Okorocha alone, ‘ICPC leave Imo Alone’ and so on.

I was one of the sceptics who believed that the last Eid-Kabir celebration or the Sallah Festival would be marked by bloodshed from terrorist attacks instead of the blood of sacrificial lambs.

Black women still suffer from the feelings of inferiority based on their nature. Skin bleaching is another consequence of the history of colonial racism. Common in Africa, the Caribbean Islands and Black America is a preference for light skinned males. Many Island women are happy to share a single fair skinned Black male to father their children, rather than to have a dark-skinned good man all to themselves. Many Black men are likewise attracted to the fairer skinned female.

Since the President, Goodluck Jonathan, announced some days ago his decision to give the Nigerian people- what they have been demanding over the years-the opportunity to dialogue over the Nigerian state, the true colours of statesmen and pretenders have started to unravel.
