LET me begin this piece by simply stating that my government’s commitment to delivering quality education for the good people of Anambra State is total.

AS time approaches for Edo governorship election slated for the second quarter of next year, intrigues and scheming have intensified, especially in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the State that lost out to the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, at the Appeal Court after the 2007 general election. Before that election, PDP in Edo State was a united family with Chief Tony Anenih as the leader.

ARE threats of strikes and strikes, the only way to resolve crises? And have we asked ourselves who suffers the most when strikes happen?

AS a Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity, one of the things I found particularly striking was the determination—and obvious sincerity—of organised labour to challenge unpopular government policies. IN the area of governance, the Comrade Governor has raised the bar in all its ramifications. Through creative governance and resourcefulness he has taken the Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, of the state to an all time high. From its previous level of N250 million per month to a hefty N1.3 billion as at August 2011.

AN Omniscient Creator never intended it so. Nothing can be more unnatural. Nothing can be more irksome to nature. Homo sapiens know it is bestial. And only demons could sponsor it; only their apparent viceroys among men (like the David Camerons of this depraved world) could sell it; and only persons who devils have first married themselves to could buy and consume it.

IT is probably only in Nigeria that five young men would brutally rape a woman, record the vile act on video, circulate it on the internet, and yet go scot free.

THE election of Alhaji Kashim Shettima as the Governor of Borno state in the last April elections was recently upheld, by virtue of the dismissal of the petition filed by the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, candidate, Alhaji Mohammed Goni, challenging the outcome of the election.
