THE All Progressives Congress, APC, just affirmed its acceptability as a party to reckon with in the modern day politics of Nigeria through its victory in Edo State. This was no easy feat as the South-South and South-East states have always shown undying love for former President Goodluck Jonathan and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP over the years.

During the recently concluded gubernatorial exercise in Edo State, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, went about electioneering in what can only be described as the most execrable manner imaginable. It was palpably evident that they had little, if any, regard for Godwin Obaseki, the newly inaugurated Governor of Edo State. I had, at the time, found this conceitedness to be obviously typical and rather annoying indeed. I had wondered why PDP leaders were disrespecting a man who undisputedly stood head and shoulders above them intellectually.

compel Speaker Dogara and other accused Principal Officers to step down for prosecution and make the House apologise to Nigerians for the individual and systemic fraud and corruption and gross abuse of office that has become the hallmark of the House over the years.

I shall begin on a morbid note. One of the horror stories that emerged from the Daesh (Isis) controlled parts of Iraq was the gruesome tale of the mother who had a daughter affected by wanderlust, even in that endangered zone.
