Our attention has been drawn to an article entitled, ‘’The Scandal In Aviation’’, written by one Obi Nwakanma, a columnist in your newspaper. In the write up, he wrote things that were not only deeply malicious and untrue but were also clearly defamatory and were designed to mislead the public and impugn the character and integrity of Chief Femi Fani-Kayode who is our client and a respected and well-known public figure.

Their relentless commitment to getting the job done, their unquestionable dedication to duty, their creative approach to highly complex issues, and most importantly, the fact that they are all women.

When the unconventional happens, the aftermath is the undesirable. However, there are a few exceptions to the rule of getting punished for challenging the status quo, and as rare as these exceptions are, they still exist in the face of unyielding opposition to change. Most spared change agents obtained their legitimacy from the masses whose cause they fight and cross they bear.

LIKE Zeus on Mount Olympus, Nigerians were transported with celestial joy and they soared on the wings of ecstatic delight, following the eight wonder world visit of the then President Bill Clinton of America. Every Nigerian, especially those in the Federal Capital Territory rose to the occasion with zealotry and patriotism. By every conventional and accepted canon of diplomacy and international relations, it was a huge success.

THE varieties of demons that exist in Nigeria are an interesting mix against which we daily do battle. There are malaria-causing, diarrhoea-inflicting and headache-distributing demons. And, believe it or not, some demons are specialists in polio apportionment. Of course, enemies are always around to direct the demons to the ‘right’ persons. For the doubting Thomas, a night in my area will do the same job those holes in Jesus’ palms and side did. On certain days of the week, ears are assaulted by verbal wars against demons of unbelievable kinds and the enemies that direct them. Definitely, on Fridays, kiss sleep farewell.
