THE mystery of life is unfathomable. It is endless and beyond comprehension. Man has tried several times, to dig into this mystery through logic, science and theology. Each time man makes a breakthrough, life’s mystery is further compounded.

FORMER President, Olusegun Obasanjo released to the press, a copy of a letter to President Goodluck Jonathan, dated 2nd December, 2013, titled – Before It Is Too Late. He accused Jonathan of all manner of infractions, from corruption to charges of training snipers and reneging on a commitment to spend only one term in office.

IT’s strongly alleged that Great Ogboru wants to contest the 2015 guber election in Delta. For a man who has hitherto contested severally, got the people’s mandate all such times but in each case failed to get it right in the end, it is no wonder that tongues are now wagging.

In the wake of President Goodluck Jonathan’s recent London visit, where he presided over the Honorary International Investors’ Council meeting, Nigerians have the right to ask what benefits his foreign trips have brought to the country (and by extension her citizens).

My attention was drawn to page 25 of Sunday Vanguard of December 8, 2013 where one Sunday Oibe attempted to assume Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor’s spokesman. But his effort was a very good example of a bad attempt at responding to the interview which Primate Elijah Ayodele granted Sunday Vanguard on November 24, 2013.

It is often surprising how Nigerians are easily taken in by spurious allegations. The reaction of many Nigerians to the allegation by the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) kept away $49.8 billion of oil proceeds between January 2012 and this year underscores the gullibility of the Nigerian public. By Sanusi’s allegation, the NNPC paid only 24 per cent of oil proceeds into the Federation Account, and diverted or stole the remaining 76 per cent.

I HAVE always believed that the difference between the governors and the governed is not only in the thin divide of ‘’you there and I here’, but on the perception of the individual concerned.

MANY find themselves overseas for many reasons, ranging from the pursuit of greener pastures, fleeing persecution, tough family conditions, wrong peer influence among friends and in school, to mere youthful adventurism.

ON October 18, 2013, my wife and I went to the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Ojodu, Lagos, for data capturing to enable us renew our drivers’ licenses. Normally, a lecture precedes the data capturing. The lecturer on this day was one Mr. A.O. Oseni of FRSC. As we cramp into the roads for our Christmas travels, it is apt to recall the lecture.

THE burial of the mother of Senator Ayogu Eze, Mrs. Paulina Eze, has certainly come and gone, but the political undertones and dusts still linger.
