“Once upon a time”, those were the words that ushered children into the vast world of learning. They would crouch around an older person who told them stories, games, and riddles. After this, they learnt to bend down and scribble on the ground. Then came slates or walls written on with charcoal.

The Federal Government has assured that it will complete the ongoing N34 billion Obehia-Akwete Azumini-Ukanafun highway dualization projects in Abia and Akwa States.

The May 29 celebration  in Enugu State is not just a showcase of the humble achievements of Governor Lawrence Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi in three years of administration but a testimony of the general acceptance of his style of administration by all segments of the state.

I congratulate every Nigerian on the occasion of yet another “Democracy” day, a day set aside to celebrate the return to civil rule after decades under military rule. As is customary, there will be parades across all the states and at the Federal Capital Territory to mark this special day, speeches upon speeches will be made and much effort will also be made to analyse and celebrate the ‘gains’ made since the return to democratic rule.

THE office of a Governor of a State particularly, a complex State like Delta State (which is actually a mini Nigeria) is serious business and only smart and fair minded people should aspire to such exalted office.
