Nothing could prepare me for the shock that greeted me when I opened the dailies on Friday, October 26, 2018. Right there on the front-page headlines was the news that President Buhari, again, could not present his West African School Certificate Examination certificate because the original is with the army.

Any African, who hates Nigeria, probably hates the entire black race.  We are very unique in multiple nuances.  In academics, various fields of specialties have the impressive footprints of Nigerians.

Nigeria is full of surprises. It is strange to understand that in a country and a state like Plateau, citizens delight in lighting the fires of violence and bloodbath. It is elatedly done just to service the egos of political paymasters and challenge the efficacy of security agents or national political leadership.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has published a list of candidates who will be contesting in the National Assembly elections – Senate and the House of Representatives in Delta Central Senatorial District.

It is the pride of most parents to see their wards all dressed up in khaki and boots. A symbol that the child has scaled through tertiary education, and successfully served the country,  a matured individual. For some,  it signifies a bonafide citizen of the nation, ‘omo ijoba’, as my Yoruba friends will say, a bragging right.
