Famadewa, Ribadu and the 90-day security plan: Unpacking Onanuga’s release

When the Presidential Spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, announced that President Bola Tinubu had constituted an eleven‑man committee to develop a National Threat Assessment and a Strategic Defence Operations Plan within ninety days, with about four months to the general elections, several things struck me even before I reached the substance of the directive.

Reading the Punch Newspaper editorial, titled “Stopping Army-Shiites’ bloody clashes” gives one the impression that all Nigerians will act rationally and that the appeal in the piece would be taken to heart by all.
