FOR those involved in human capital development, especially in the area of  training and appraisals, there is the concept of  Programmed To Fail, PTF, that is, giving someone a job or position without adequate preparation. It is very common in our public and private lives and when the person fails, the blame game begins.

I SUPPORT war against corruption, without minding whose ox is gored. I am on record to have strongly supported President Muhammadu Buhari when, at the beginning of his regime, he authorised the prosecution of the head of the Legislature, President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki, on corruption allegations, believing that we have to start somewhere. In the process, I authored and published controversial opinions, such as “Time To Impeach Saraki”, “Buhari Hitting Saraki With Kid Gloves”, “Why Buhari Must Jail Corrupt Politicians Now”, and “PDP’s Charge Against Buhari Is of Non Compos Mentis”, to name just a few. As at then, Buhari’s storied anti-corruption profile appeared stainless.

The irony, however, is that it’s either of the two main contestants who did not debate that will actually win the race

The road to President Muhammadu Buhari’s first term victory was not easy, so also, attaining a second term would come with its challenges, but surely, his chances are good. Even when the gang-up against Buhari as an opposition candidate ahead of the 2015 election was stiff and hostile, he clinched victory. Now that he is at the helm of affairs and the election coming as a referendum on his performance, it is difficult, if not impossible for an opposition to defeat him.

For the 2011 presidential election, President Goodluck Ebele Nnamdi Azikiwe Jonathan of the PDP refused to debate with General Muhammadu Buhari of the CPC – Goodluck Jonathan won the election!
