In the case of Independent National Electoral Commission v. Balarabe Musa (2003) 10 WRN 1, the Supreme Court upheld the fundamental right of Nigerian citizens to form or belong to political parties of their choice in accordance with Section 40 of the 1999 Constitution of the Republic.

It will go down in the history of Akoko politics that Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo fought many battles before he could get elected as a House member to represent Akoko North East/Akoko North West federal constituency. He did fight oppositions from within and outside. There was no way BTO, as he is popularly called, could have won the election in spite of opposition from a sitting governor if not for the enthusiastic support of the people. Tunji-Ojo eventually triumphed over the allied opposition against all odds with 20,988 votes and thereby recorded the second highest victory margin of 8,021 votes in the entire state, after Hon. Adedayo Omolafe.

The whole essence of corporate organizations is to remain focused on maintaining strong adherence to ethical standards and superior service delivery. Most corporate organizations especially the ones in the insurance sector need to remain vibrant and dynamic to instil public confidence. This is the view of the apathy that trails insurance practice in Nigeria.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the majority seats in the Nigerian Senate – at least 62 so far of 109. It is therefore set to produce the Senate president when the 9th National Assembly is inaugurated in June. A proclamation by President Muhammadu Buhari, after he must have been sworn in on May 29, will specify the exact date and time of the inauguration.

The elections have now come and gone. While the winners are still jubilating, the losers are counting their losses.
