AWASH in the great tide of politics, we must not forget why politics can be a noble endeavor. It leads to governance. When done correctly, governance can reform a nation and improve the lot of the people. In the hands of the ignorant and the mean, governance cast abundant misfortune upon a nation and upon the welfare of its citizens.

RECENTLY Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos state decried the sudden non-appearance of the names of over one million voters in Lagos State from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC’s voters register. But responding to the discrepancy noticeable in the new voters register vis-a-vis that of 2011, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, for Lagos State ascribed it to changes between the 2011 Post-AFIS voter register and the extant voters register after the Post-Business rule voter register criterion is applied.

ON November 12, 2008, Adams Eric Aliyu Oshiomhole, was sworn in as Governor of Edo State. It was a special moment for the state and its people for several reasons. Adedayo Adeyeye, the Minister of State for Works.

ALL the military rulers since the civil war were from the North, and did not give Igbos the second Niger Bridge. The civilian government that followed ignored that need of the Igbos. Developments experts and other relevant stakeholders have been effusive in their praises for its introduction by the Senator Bala Mohammed-led Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, describing it as the panacea to infrastructural deficit bedeviling the territory. Considering the fact that it is loaded with all the ‘’ingredients” that have the potentials of transforming any city that is suffering from infrastructural barrenness, the rain of endorsements or better still, accolades being showered on FCTA’s Land Swap policy cannot be said to be misplaced.

In the very close future, video broadcasting will be the most ubiquitous and accessible form of communication. The tools for video recording will continue to become smaller and more affordable. Personal media devices will be universal and interconnected. People will have the opportunity to record and share video with a small group of friends or everyone around the world.

Success, my dear President, Aliko Dangote, the Nigerian 25th richest man on earth today, would admit, is not by accident. It is purely an act and art of deliberate planning. People plan to succeed in business, in politics, in the profession and also [even more] in government.
