Tale of two beauty queens
In the 90’s these two women were hot cakes as they reigned both as Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria and Miss Nigeria respectively. While Nike Oshinowo-Soleye was Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, Binta Sunkai emerged as a shining northern star to be crowned Miss Nigeria. That was 20 years ago. It was such a joy recently to find these two beauties in one room at a media parley to announce the return of Nigeria’s earliest beauty pageant, Miss Nigeria.
Statement Platforms
Making a statement sometimes could be a very simple task if you know what to put together to achieve that. A great shoe with the right edge could be the perfect accessory that you need to lift a simple t-shirt and trouser and help you make that entrance that cause heads to turn! And what can achieve that more quickly than a statement platform?
Show off that Back

I saved money for 12 months to buy a bicycle — Chief Afe Babalola
Nestled in the serene town of Ado Eki is the Afe Babalola University (ABUAD), a pioneer private university in Ekiti State built by legal Icon, Chief Afe Babbalola. He had insisted that if this interview must hold, it had to be at the University as he wanted this reporter to have a first hand assessment of his education project. But we arrived at Ado Ekiti to a Mecca of some sort. His office was a beehive of activities, scores of people gathered outside his office taking turns to see him. Clad in a checked shirt over a pair of jeans and matching canvas and kangol hat, he presented an image far removed from the Litigator Supreme who has made Emmanuel Chambers a place for the high and low seeking justice. He had just returned from his farm he explained. It was interesting to see how he related with people in his community many of who had come to him for one help or the other. Giving as he later told us has become a way of life for him with over 20 charities benefitting from his deep purse.
Remedy for Insanity
Is there a person in your life you think needs changing? Almost all of us would answer “Yes†to that question. This week several of my clients have been facing struggles with people whose attitudes, words and actions they believe need major adjustments. As I worked with them, I gained valuable clarity for myself.
“Our father taught us to respect everyone”— Najite & Mitchelle Dede
Daughters of esteemed diplomat and former Nigerian envoy to Ethiopia Brownson Dede; Michelle and Najite are two of the leading lights in the Nigerian entertainment industry and the Lagos social scene.
