ABIA State Governor, T. A. Orji, was blunt yesterday when he visited Enyimba International of Aba before their departure to Lagos to keep a date with their Federation Cup final against Sharks FC of Port Harcourt on Sunday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.

Lagos State Government has concluded plans to host the 2009 Federation Cup final scheduled to begin on July 12th, 2009 even as it said it has earmarked over N6 million for all the expenses concerning entertainment.
The opening match will be between Eyimba of Aba and Sharks of Port Harcourt.

AT last, Nigeria’s junior athletes who have been at the mercy of the Italian Embassy in the country finally left this shores last night for Rome to be part of the World Youth Championship which kicked off on Tuesday. The embassy eventually granted travel visas to the junior athletes after higher authorities prevailed on the Italians who had earlier remained adamant not to do so.

The Nigeria U-20 men’s team, Flying Eagles flew out of Lagos on Wednesday afternoon and were being expected at Doha International Airport, Qatar, at midnight, to commence their final prepatations for the 17th FIFA U-20 World Cup finals coming up in Egypt September/October this year.
