LAGOS—IN apparent response to public outcry over the total breakdown of law and order on the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway by tanker and other truck drivers, as highlighted by Vanguard Newspaper in the last few days, the Federal and Lagos State governments have taken steps to tackle the resultant gridlock and other security threats along the Mile 2 and other adjourning roads.

Your Excellency, your presence at this important and historic event is a demonstration of leadership and your personal commitment to education and the passion and commitment of this administration to revitalize our education sector and develop the nation’s human capital.

Three weeks after the African Union decided on 30 January 2017 to readmit it following a 33-year absence, Morocco, which until then enjoyed the status of a sovereign Observer, announced on 24 February that it had applied to join the 15-member Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

The perennial traffic crisis in and around Apapa area of Lagos, not withstanding, the Federal government has approved the construction of a new tank farm on Creek Road.

There are indications that the 2018 Budget recently presented by President Mohammadu Buhari may receive the required urgent attention of the National Assembly if feelers from some legislators are anything to go by.
