Ohanaeze, Igbo influential group; Afenifere, Yoruba socio-political group; and Yoruba Council of Elders (YCE) say they support former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s call for national dialogue to resolve insecurity and some other challenges facing Nigeria.

This Allusion is apt following the deluge of reactions that trailed the gruesome murder of Mrs Olufunke Olakunri, daughter of the National Leader of the Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, since the incident happened 10 days ago. 

Mid-year 2019 data on aid worker security incidents shows that 9 humanitarian workers have been killed, 13 kidnapped and 17 wounded in sub-Saharan Africa, according to research based on the Aid Worker Security Database (AWSD).1 This toll is a result of 25 incidents that took place across 10 sub-Saharan countries including Nigeria, where two deaths are recorded so far in two separate incidents.

Once again, the educated and discerning Nigerians in what had been described by Governor El-Rufai of Kaduna State as “the developing South” of Nigeria are almost alone in raising the alarm regarding rapidly rising debt.
