Parents who think their children are the greatest!

By Bunmi Sofola RECENTLY, Frieda, the head of a leading private school, lamented that modern parents are praising their children to the hilt and bringing up their daughters as if they can do no wrong.  She argued that being showered with too much praise and too many presents is not a good thing for a child […]

Love rats never reform!

There are some experiences you would have laughed at as being ludicrous if they hadn’t happened to you. For two years, Michelle, a 30-year-old IT analyst was blissfully in love with her man of two years. She was more financially well off than he was but after a year together, Anthony, her beau, convinced her he wasn’t a gold-digger. According to her, “Watching him help out at my house, decorating and helping with my cars convinced me that perhaps we did have a future together. So, when he started urging me to start making wedding plans, I was very excited. He was a very handsome man with whom I was sure we would make lovely babies.

My brother killed my husband, should I forgive him?

The following dialogue ensued between a brother and his sister when she came calling at his house in search of her missing husband. Her husband had gone to her brother’s house the previous evening to collect the money her brother had borrowed from him and had refused to pay back. But while he was at her brother’s house, he called to tell her that her brother wasn’t still back and he has plan to wait for his return. But he didn’t make it back home.

The success we’ve had so far is not very encouraging. When it comes to romance, these youngsters knew what they want and no subtle or outright hints, contrary to their wish, would shift them. Still, there’s no harm in trying. And when Gemma, a friend’s first daughter came back from the States a couple of years back, our match-making instinct became sharpened.

Some women like older men – why not the other way round?

When I met Greg at a workshop recently and realized he was only 29, I lied I was in my 30s when the fact is, I was over 10 years older,” confessed Theresa as she gloated of her latest conquest. “My friends urged me to go for it – to enjoy it while it lasted. And why not? He was still single, very good – looking and thrilled with the idea of bedding a ‘sugar mummy’. I asked him if he’d slept with older women before and he clamped up. No skin off my nose really.
