Relationships

Put your wife down at your peril!

By Bunmi Sofola LARA had often moaned that someone else had got the life she was supposed to have.  We were mates at the secondary school and have remained close decades after we left.  A fairly brilliant student, we were all mildly surprised when she opted for matrimony.  Within the spate of a decade, she’d not […]

Ese Oruru: Unanswered questions on my mind (1)

It is obvious, that we are yet to hear the last of the Ese Rita Oruru and Yunusa Dahiru, a.k.a. Yellow. In the next couple of weeks when proper hearing should begin, we are surely going to be entertained to our hearts delight, from the ridiculous to the morbid and out rightly outrageous. But while we await these, there are still several questions in my mind begging for answers that may never be provided, at least, with the way many issues seem to have been twisted and wounded together, leaving one gaping in bewilderment and confusion.

Why row about little things that prolongs your marriage?

IF you find yourself getting more and more irritated with your beloved, then common sense would suggest that it’s best to hold your tongue. But in this case, at least, it appears common sense might be wrong. Because according to researchers, it’s much better for your marriage to speak up rather than let your problems fester. Amidst squeals of welcome from his kids, he dolled out his presents; meat pies and doughnuts for the .kids”, a peppered quarter chicken for his wife, Remi and of course, the same piece of chicken for himself too. Remi sighed. She knew what would follow. She would be expected to fry chips to go along with the ’treats’ so that she would spend less time on the family dinner.

Just because you can easily be unfaithful doesn’t mean you should

How would you feel if a neighbour knocked on your door to yell angrily at you that your husband knocked up her daughter? What if shortly after that, two females in the neighbourhood were alleged to have fought tooth and nail over affairs with your husband? Would you walk out on him in disgust – or would you just keep quiet, especially when children were involved? Khadijat, in her late 30s, fashionable and the owner of a very impressive beauty parlor was in her salon recently, doing what she knew best when a neighbour strolled in, scowling at her from the mirror she used to view incoming customers.
