Husbands who believe they’re goaded into being violent!

By Bunmi Sofola WILL spousal violence ever go away?  Two readers sent in their views recently.  One is a married mother of three and the other is a bewildered husband who’s been physically and mentally abused by his wife.  “My husband and I were together for nearly ten years,” wrote Ibi, “and he was a […]

I’m considering cheating on my disabled husband

I

Dear Bunmi,
I’M in my late 30’s. Six years ago, my husband was in an
accident which left him disabled. Although I still love him, our relationship has changed. Our love-life is non-existent and we sleep in separates beds. We have a competent helper and this helps.
At a recent Christmas party, I met a man through a close friend whose wife has cancer. We became good friends but now we want more. Unfortunately, our partners love and depend on us. Do you think an affair in this circumstances will be wrong? I have needs too and I’m not 40 yet.

Dear Yemi,
I do sympathise with your predicament, I’m sure friends would
have told you your relationship with your husband has changed and he’s no longer the man you married. That as long as you’re discreet, an affair is fine – it might even enable you to continue caring for your husband without feeling bitter about your situation.
Why not ask yourself how you would feel in your husband’s position – would you understand? Your answer should tell you all you need to know.

This Leap Year you can go on your knee and propose to your dithering man!

How do two people who love each other madly actually make it to the altar? When is the moment right for him to pop the question, or would he leave it till never? How do you convince your man you love him enough to want to commit without forcing the issue and scaring him off? In other words, why the heck, after all these years, hasn’t he asked you to marry him?

Husbands who ‘graze’ nearer to home!

IT was a most harrowing day with the traffic and Rebecca thought she couldn’t handle more stress as she made her way to one of the high-rise complexes she lived in with her family. It was night already but thank goodness there was electricity.

My friends want me to sleep with an older woman

My friends were telling me that I should try having sex with a lady ten years older than me or more. I am 27 years and my sexual partners have always been age-mates or those younger than me. Personally, I don’t fancy the thought of going to bed with an older woman even though my friends tell me that I could learn a lot and would enjoy the experience.

Sex with my husband is painful

My husband and I enjoy lovemaking a lot and it’s one thing that keeps our relationship going despite having three children. My man respects me for that and has never cheated for as long as I could remember. But lately, sex has been really painful and not as enjoyable as it used to. On many occasions, I turned down my husband and he doesn’t feel good about this. Does this mean that something is wrong?
