Honourable Mrs Uche Ekwunife is a member of the Federal House of Repre sentatives representing Anaocha/Njikoka/Dunukofia Federal Constituency of Anambra state. She is also the gubernatorial candidate of Progressive Grand Alliance , PPA, for the February 6, gubernatorial election in Anambra State.

The Esogban of Benin Kingdom, Chief David Edebiri is the third in command to the Benin monarch, Oba Erediuwa. He is also the Chairman of a socio_cultural organization, the Benin Forum, which is an umbrella body of all Benin organizations as well as the being the chief priest of the Benin Kingdom.

FOR politics, year 2010 may perhaps be the most significant since 1999 from the profound expected revolution in the Nigerian treacherous political landscape. And Nigeria, being a constitutional democracy, would almost completely depend on the two squabbling chambers of the National Assembly to effect the much desired changes.

What they are fighting for, we do not know. So, we intend to cement all manner of relationships so that Abia can truly become God’s Own State. The North basically believes in the exercise of the constitution. Everything is clear. We are not looking for a replacement for Yar’ Adua because the constitution is there to be followed .But this is not the case of inability to run the country. It’s a case of illness and all that one can expect is quick recovery. As it is, the president has not said he cannot continue and that the VP should continue or act in his absence.

In the PDP, there are two classes of politicians. Those who came in to build the party, to organize the party and celebrate it and put it in the winning form in general elections and even local elections. And there is the other group of politicians who came in to sit and obtain posts in elections. You will expect the actions of these politicians not to be uniform, but to be in agreement with their own desires.

Politically, you know I am a founder and not a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). There is a distinction and that is why I am making it. As at today, we are about three of such founders still remaining as members on the PDP Board of Trustees. I am, therefore, a life member of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of PDP.

Senator Odion Ugbesia, a former political science lecturer, is one of the associates of Chief Tony Anenih. For more than two years after he was reportedly stopped from picking the PDP gubernatorial ticket just before the 2007 general elections, Ugbesia kept a low profile, rejecting requests for media interviews. It was not as if he was quiet in that period as he kept to his duties both as a senator and in his learning as a faithful loyalist of Anenih.

They also share a common problem of political marginalization in the Nigerian state owing predominantly to their status as a minority.
