In a blunt and virtually unprecedented presidential rebuke, Barack Obama on Tuesday described Donald Trump as “unfit” to be president and called on Republicans to disown him.

D r Adah Obekpa was a presidential aspirant of the African Renaissance Party (ARP) ahead of the 2011 general elections. In fact, Obekpa emerged as the ARP presidential candidate before he was substituted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). He went to court to challenge the substitution. The case first came up on April 13, 2011, three days before the 2011 presidential poll, at the Federal High Court sitting in Makurdi and judgement delivered on March 16, 2016. The court ruled against him but he has now lodged an appeal at the Court of Appeal.

Hon. Pally Iriase is the Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives and member representing Owan Federal Constituency of Edo State in the House. In this interview, Iriase says the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the September 10 governorship election in Edo, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, is no match for the APC candidate, Mr Godwin Obaseki. According to him, with the ten years of the two PDP administrations preceding the Oshiomhole regime, under which the state suffered under-development, Edo people can never vote for the party. The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC)in Edo State embarked on marathon reconciliation meetings ahead of the September 10 governorship election in the state throughout last week with Governor Adams Oshiomhole at the helm of affairs. And as it appears, the party is completely united following the decision by the deputy governor of the state, Dr Pius Odubu, and his supporters to sheath their sword and work for the victory of the party. Odubu, popularly known as the Okakuo (Warrior) of the Universe, was understandably unhappy because his boss decided to back the Chairman of Edo State Economic Team and financial guru, Mr Godwin Obaseki, to clinch the APC ticket for the election.

Well, it is still part of farming, but unfortunately, we don’t do that in this area. Ours is mainly fish farming, coca farming, but the issue of this cattle rearing has been on for sometime now and everybody is expressing displeasure on the silence of the President of the country. What I don’t like is for people to say because he is Fulani, that is why he doesn’t want to say anything. If somebody has a responsibility and he is not discharging it, let us accuse him that ‘you are not discharging this responsibility, why?’ I am sure himself will not say because I am Fulani, and Fulani herdsmen are Fulani, no, he can’t say that.
