The failure rate in Mathematics among secondary school students in Nigeria who sat for the West African Examinations Council in that subject has dropped from 35% to 25% in the last five years.

TWO years after the Federal Government announced the conversion of Yaba College of Technology, Lagos and Kaduna Polytechnic to full fledged universities, the National Assembly is yet to see through the enabling act that will give legal teeth to this policy statement.

The International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) has started a campaign on social protection for migrant workers. The launch of this campaign coincided with the International Migrants’ Day, marked December 18, 2009 .
Before then, the International Labour Organisation during its annual conference in 2004 adopted a “ Multilateral Framework on Labour Migration which is a part of a plan of action for migrant workers agreed by
ILO constituents”.
