WITH the rains here again,residents of Ajegunle have continued to lament the horrible state of the road which links the ghetto community to the ever-busy Oshodi/Apapa expressway.

Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, has urged workers and labour unions in the country to shun the use of illegal strikes, especially during an election year to settle trade disputes between them and their employers as such acts affect productivity and employment drive of governments.

Obviously convinced that their present predicament had gone beyond the ability of man to solve, the people of Zaar community in Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro local government areas of Bauchi State recently decided to appeal directly to God for divine intervention. Wanting an end to the multiple crises bedevilling their communities, the people had embarked on a three-day joint session of fasting and prayer.

The LAGBUS took off from Oshodi enroute Ebute-Ikorodu around 9pm that fateful day. The officials had informed intending passengers that the bus with registration number Wo 15, will avoid Agric due to the perennial gridlock at both Benson and Ikorodu roundabouts. The driver who was later identified as ‘’Holy Michael’’, only stopped at designated bus terminals for passengers to either alight or board the bus.

Lagos has recorded some heart-breaking boat mishaps in recent time, especially in places like Festac Town, Apapa and Lagos Island. The most recent at the Majidun area of Ikorodu sent a 38-year-old shipping company executive, Isaac Akere, his wife and about six others to their untimely death.
