THERE are indications that the management of the Union Bank and organized labour have not resolved the lingering dispute over unpaid benefits to close to 2000 retired workers between 2006 and 2008, weeks after a core investor has taken over the bank.

The Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP) has asked the National Assembly to probe the activities of Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs) in the management of pension funds. The pensioners also called on the legislators to review the Act establishing the Pension Commission (PENCOM) to make it “more responsible and responsive to the pensioners”.
