4 Nigerian lecturers get N7m research grants

The British Council has recently awarded four Nigerian lecturers a combined sum of £24,380 or N7, 240,860 naira research grants through the Researchers’ Link programme to undertake various researches that meet the developmental goals of Nigeria. The awardees will be supported by established researchers in the UK with proposed activity selected on the basis of mutual benefit, research quality and potential for sustained interaction.

Six Nigerians honoured as ECOWAS celebrates 40th anniversary

Notable Nigerians were honoured at the celebration of ECOWAS 40 anniversary in Lome, Togo. Professor Adebayo Adedeji, Professor Anya O. Anya, Dr. Sam Ominyi Egwu, General Yakubu Gowon,Vice Admiral Dele Ezeoba and high networth human capacity development expert, Mr. Victor Onyekachi Onyiriuka were among others who received the Award of African Leaders of Integrity in Togo.

Oshiomhole commends AAU VC for effective management of varsity

EDO State governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has commended the Vice Chancellor of Ambrose Alli (AAU), Ekpoma, Edo State, Prof. (Mrs.) Cordellia Agbebaku, for her efficient running of the institution in spite of the numerous challenges she faced when she took over the reins of affairs of the varsity. The governor also condemned the award of honorary degrees to people of questionable characters by varsities’ administrators in the country, saying that such awards go to the highest bidder.

ABE UK certifications berth in Abuja

Association of Business Executives, United Kingdom (ABE, UK) has approved Dare Inspiracion Learning and Development Center as her training and certification partner in Abuja, Nigeria. While speaking on the ABE UK certifications, Lyndon Jones, ABE Founder Chairman said that the certifications are designed to meet the requirements of employers. It is a professional qualification and it can also lead to a university degree.

UNN Alumni donate N24m to alma mater

As part of the commitment and contribution in moving the university to greater heights, in terms of infrastructural development as well as intervention in other issues peculiar to their alma mater, the University of Nigeria Alumni Association (UNAA) has donated N24m to the university. This was revealed by the President of the Association, Barrister Andrew Oru during the 88th National Executive meeting of the Association held at UBA Hall of Fame, University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
