Controversy has continued to trail the announcement by the Lagos State Government through the Ministry of Transportation (MOT) late last month, on its plans to embark on an aggressive enforcement of all traffic laws regarding the operations of commercial motorcyclists popularly called Okoda in the metropolis as the association of Okada riders has taken the state government to court on the matter seeking proper interpretation of the law.

IMAGINE how safe life would be in Lagos if commercial bus drivers stop drinking ogogoro and segbe(locally distilled gin drinks). And imagine how safe the roads would be if drivers were educated enough to attend mandatory driving schools.

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos Council in collaboration with members of the Lagos State Police Command and Nigeria Press Council (NPC,) has set up a 14- man Task Force charged with the responsibility of ensuring arrest and prosecution of suspects who parade themselves as journalists without any valid document or place of employment.
