VIOLENCE, voters’ apathy, vote-buying, and allegations of manipulation, yesterday, marred the supplementary governorship and state assembly elections in some states of the country.

IT was wild jubilation yesterday in Osogbo, Osun State capital and Ede, the country home of the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Ademola Adeleke as the Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja, yesterday nullified the election of All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola and declared Adeleke as the valid winner of the September 2018 governorship election in the state.

Against the background of judicial intrigues by political interest groups, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, yesterday opened up on its plans to hold supplementary governorship and legislative elections in 18 states tomorrow where the polls had been declared inconclusive.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, yesterday, launched a blistering attack on the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and its  presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, describing their claim of having won last month’s presidential poll as the hallucinatory outcome of a post-election depression.

Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, has told the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had at various stages of the February 23 presidential election, unlawfully allocated votes to President Muhammadu Buhari.
