GOVERNOR   Samuel Ortom of Benue State, yesterday, told senators that prior to the crisis that engulfed the state, which led to the killings by Fulani Herdsmen, President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno, and Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, all ignored several warnings of the planned attack on Logo and Guma communities in the state.

FOLLOWING the massacre carried out by Fulani herdsmen in Benue State, which claimed 73 lives, leaders from the South West geo political zone, including but not limited to Chiefs Ayo Adebanjo, Ebenezer Babatope and Supo Shonibare; Yinka Odumakin and Wale Oshun, have been expressing their views on how to avoid such a carnage in the zone.

GOVERNOR Samuel Ortom of Benue State, yesterday, met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, asking the President to do the needful in arresting and prosecuting the leadership of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore for genocide.

GOVERNOR Samuel Ortom of Benue State has accused the Federal Government and the various security agencies of abandoning the citizens of the state to be slaughtered by rampaging Fulani herdsmen.

Six days after suspected herdsmen struck in six communities in Benue State, leaving about 50 persons dead, Governor Samuel Ortom, yesterday, announced that unclaimed bodies of about 49 victims of the massacre, kept in morgues across the state, would be given mass burial.

THERE are indications that the National Assembly will soon appropriate funds for the settlement of N800 billion subsidy debts to oil marketers as part of moves to enable them import petroleum products.

THE Federal Government is considering payment of N800 billion fuel subsidy arrears to oil marketers, provision of tax holidays and other incentives as part of measures targeted at ending the lingering scarcity.

THERE are indications that the persistent fuel scarcity in the country may take a long time to end as a meeting involving the Federal Government, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Department of Petroleum Resources, Major Marketers Association of Nigeria, MOMAN, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, ended with no clear road-map.

AS President Muhammadu Buhari prepares to meet stakeholders today in Aso Rock, to find lasting solution to the nation’s prolonged fuel crisis, the Senate Committee on Petroleum Downstream has blamed the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC and marketers for the development.

THE Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association, DAPPMA, has denied owing the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, N26.7 billion for fuel supplied.
