The All Progressives Congress, APC, and its splinter group, Reformed All Progressives Congress, R-APC, were yesterday locked in a war of words over alleged plans by the former to induce each senator with N50 million to forcibly reconvene, with a view to unseating the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki.

Two Senate Committee Chairmen have taken a swipe at the Chairman, Senate Committee on Police Affairs, Senator Abu Ibrahim, APC, Katsina South, who warned that the Senate will not witness peace if the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, fails to resign from his present position.

THE defection gale that further depopulated the hierarchy of the All Progressives Congress, APC, is set to upset the 2019 presidential permutations in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, which was the major beneficiary of the losses by the ruling party.

The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, buoyed by the influx of bigwig politicians into its ranks, this week, were at each others’ throats last night, over fears that moves were afoot to impeach the current leadership of the National Assembly.

The Federal Government in its first formal response to the gale of defections from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, yesterday described the exit of Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, as a good riddance that would remove obstacles to the delivery of good governance.
