The authorities of the Fountain University, Osogbo have given scholarship to 38 students of the institution for the 2008/2009 academic session.

The resumption date presented the school children the opportunity to reminiscence on their experiences during the four-week holiday. As recounted by the school children, many of them were unable to travel during the holiday due to fuel scarcity. In fact, the fuel crisis hampered movement within the Lagos metropolis so much so hat the number of children at the various amusement parks that dot the city of Lagos reduced drastically when compared with the figure recorded during the previous yelutide seasons.

Hundreds of school-going children as well as their counterparts who are out of school gathered last Saturday at Oto area of Lagos State for an awareness programme organised by the Community Art Development Initiative (CADI), a non-governmental organisation.

The Bachelor of Dental Surgery and Bachelor of Nursing Science programmes in the Lagos State University College of Medicine, Ikeja will soon take off as the Resource Assessment Visitation of the National Universities Commission (NUC) has visited the College.

According to Prof. Ademola Onifade who is the Director of the Centre for General Studies, Lagos State University, the basic thing is for political leaders to stop giving poor attention and low priority to education, saying that they should be focussed and wholeheartedly committed to education.
