A 29-year-old Nigerian student at a private college in Malaysia, Luke Nnaemeka Ugwu, has been sentenced to death by hanging by a Malaysian High Court for drug trafficking.

Contrary to the demand of ASUU that the Lagos State University Vice Chancellor, Professor John Obafunwa should be suspended, LASU Students Union has passed a vote of confidence in the Vice Chancellor, urging him to remain in office and complete his tenure.
The decision was reached after the Union congress held on 20th March 2015 at LASU MBA Hall.

The schools for the blind and deaf have recently acquired saving and investment skill as part of activities to commemorate 2015 Global Money Week. The financial empowerment seminar which took place at the Wesley School for the Deaf and Pacelli School for the Blind and Partially Sighted Children, witnessed huge participation as a non-governmental organization, Financial Literacy for All, FLA, equipped the students with the knowledge of how to save and spend wisely.

PROPRIETORS and head teachers of primary schools in Nigeria have been urged to implement Abacus in their schools in order to lay a solid foundation for the progress of their students. Abacus, said Alhaji Jimoh Aare, Chairman of the Lagos Chapter of Mathematics Association of Nigeria, MAN, has the potential to empower students and help improve the pass rate in Mathematics.

Professor Florence Obi, Dean of Education, University of Calabar, Dr. Taiwo Folasade Ipaye, Registrar and Secretary to Council, University of Lagos UNILAG, Professor Ngozi Osarenren, a lecturer at UNILAG and former Commissioner for Education, Edo State, have unanimously called on schools to give student counsellors a paramount place in schools to do their core job.
