Another perspective

ON quite a few occasions this year, I have expressed disappointment in President Muhammadu Buhari and indicated a preference for his main rival, PDP flagbearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. And most of the Vanguard readers who have contacted me have said that they share my views.

NIGERIA is full of prancing, posturing, preening, pampered quasi princelings – arrogant, domineering politicians who reckon that they should be allowed to own their states in perpetuity and feel that they deserve to be slavishly obeyed at all times

Let my people rise!

EVERYONE who is well-plugged-in to the South-South political scene knows that Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi – the colourful ex-Governor (2007-2015) of my state (Rivers), current Minister of Transport and recurrent director-general of Buhari election campaigns – is super-combative and divisive by nature.

Atiku’s big win

EX-VP Alhaji Atiku Abubakar enjoyed a resounding victory last weekend; and his emergence as the presidential candidate of the main opposition party, PDP, has totally panicked many previously complacent members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC,  because they know that Atiku is the only Nigerian politician who has what it takes to beat President Buhari in 2019.
