Emir Sanusi has been dethroned. He lasted six years.  Sanusi enthronement sparked hopes. The north had been in cultural handcuffs, detained in illiteracy.  The handcuffs had to be unlocked from within. It had seemed that a high profile social activist as emir could hold the key. But many feared for Sanusi.  Sanusi was loudmouthed. Where would he find tact? To survive, he had to stay within the bounds of the throne and let many sleeping political dogs lie.

It’s 2020 but the ghost of NEPA lives on. Sometimes light sneaks in  after two days  and leaves before  the DSTV  decoder has finished booting up.

Imagine two students in the same secondary school in Kaduna. They are 18. They are filled with youthful patriotism. They sit for admission exams into the NDA. They both want to read Mechanical Engineering. Efosa scores 280.  Musa scores 180. Efosa’s celebrations are cut short. He is not invited for an interview. Musa who scored 180  is hopping around. He has been invited for an interview. Musa is admitted. Efosa and Musa are  Nigerians but from different states. Efosa with his 280 repeats the NDA exams the following year. He takes another 2 years to achieve a score of  300 and is finally admitted.  Musa and Efosa become military officers. Musa who scored 180  when Efosa scored 280 is  Efosa’s boss. Musa remains Efosa’s boss for the entire military career.

I have a story to tell the North. I hope it receives it in good faith. I love the North. So I have decided to tell the North how his  brother the South truly feels. The South loves the north but  the South is  getting fed up.

A couple of months ago, I watched Gov Obaseki talk about his plans to balloon palm oil production  in Edo and I saw a Fashola.  He was methodical. He spoke with conviction. He seemed passionate about delivering good governance.

Lagos dropped the ball. That is what happens when politicians play for  selfish political reasons.   Lagos had Okada nuisance under a firm leash in 2013. It had seized and destroyed thousands of offending motorcycles. Then the 2015 elections drew close. And Lagos played shortsighted politics.

They fight tooth and nail. Someone told me that to prosecute an effective  governorship election in Imo that about 5 billion naira could be needed.  It will sound outrageous until you start. You will start with notice me philanthropy and mid-night meetings.

Many have no hope in Hope Uzodimma. He doesn’t inspire confidence. Many doubt he has genuine claims to the mandate, despite the Supreme Court.
