Confessing Christ before men

By Femi Aribisala Jesus says: “Everyone who confesses me before men, him I will also confess before my Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies me before men, him I will also deny before my Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 10:32-33). How exactly do we confess Christ? Confessing and denying Many Christians take […]

Who is Jesus ? 2

If no one has ever seen God and no man can see God and live, which God did Jacob speak to at Penuel? Jacob said: “I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.” (Genesis 32:30). How come Jacob did not die after seeing God? The same question applies to Moses: “The Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend.” (Exodus 33:11). Which God did Moses speak to face to face?

Who is Jesus ? 1

At a certain juncture in the ministry of Jesus, he asked his disciples: “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” (Matthew 16:13). They told him some were saying he is John the Baptist, some say he is Elijah and others say he is Jeremiah or one of the prophets. He then asked them: “What about you? Who do you say I am?” (Matthew 16:15).

What does it mean to believe in Jesus?

The Jews asked Jesus: “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?” He said to them: “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he sent.” (John 6:28-29).

Many are called but few are chosen

SOME people were coming from a mighty crusade along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. Millions of people had been in attendance. There was a big traffic jam that stretched for miles and miles.

The Creation in Christ Jesus 2

The scriptures say the whole earth is filled with the glory of God.  So how come most people cannot see it?  How come men could not see the glory of God in Jesus Christ?

The new creation in Christ Jesus

As Levi was in the loins of Abraham when Melchisedec met him, so have we been in the loins of Christ from the foundation of the world

The Blood of Jesus is the Holy Spirit (3)

The Holy Spirit is at the heart of the New Covenant: “‘As for me,’ says the Lord, ‘this is my covenant with them: my Spirit who is upon you, and my words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants’ descendants,’ says the Lord, ‘from this time and forevermore.’” (Isaiah 59:21).

The Blood of Jesus is the Holy Spirit (2)

The out-pouring of the blood of the new covenant took place at the Pentecost and not at Calvary.

When you ask Christians why Jesus came into the world and died on the cross, they will tell you he had to die in order to offer himself as a sacrifice for sins. However, this is entirely different from the reason Jesus gave to his disciples.

The Blood of Jesus is the Holy Spirit (1)

Jesus shocked everyone by saying: “Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.” (John 6:53-54).

How can man be righteous? (2)

He completely debunks Paul’s notion that Adam’s sin was transferred to all mankind. Jesus declares Abel, the direct son of Adam, to be righteous: “Upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.” (Matthew 23:35).

How can man be righteous? (1)

Can a man born of woman be righteous? One of Job’s friends, Eliphaz, does not think so. He asks cynically: “What is man, that he could be pure, or one born of woman, that he could be righteous?”

Love is better than Sacrifice

A man got his girlfriend pregnant.  Therefore, he asked her to marry him.  ‘But do you love me?’ the girl asked him.  “What’s love got to do with it?” he replied.  “Am I not doing the right thing by you?”  However, the girl would not be moved.  “Do you love me?” she insisted.

Lessons on carrying a cross

JESUS used five loaves of bread to feed 5,000 people. He then used seven loaves to feed 4,000. Nevertheless, instead of reaching the conclusion that because of him they would never again have to worry about bread, his disciples were still concerned when they forgot to bring bread with them on a trip

Why is it so difficult to trust God?

Jesus used five loaves of bread to feed 5,000 people. He then used seven loaves to feed 4,000. Nevertheless, instead of reaching the conclusion that because of him they would never again have to worry about bread, his disciples were still concerned when they forgot to bring bread with them on a trip.

Fighting against the truth

For a long time, Jesus was a big problem in my life. I simply could not handle the truth of God that he reveals. Before I met Jesus, I was convinced I was righteous. I lived my life under a strict code of principles and precepts, which I believed set me apart from the rest of humanity.
