God is not a Father through creation. He created so many things to which he is not a Father. He created the heavens and the earth, but he is not the Father of the heavens and the earth.

We are on our way to a city where the Lord is all in all. He is the water, the food, the clothing, the heat, the light and shield.

The rich young ruler, our fabled Central Bank governor, comes to Jesus earnestly wanting to know what to do in order to inherit eternal life. Jesus says to him: “You know the commandments, go ahead and obey them?” The man replies: “Oh, I have already obeyed them.

Jesus is walking down the road, and there is this strange man in flowing white agbada running after him. The man is running like a mad man. He is running and shouting. What could possibly be the matter?

We use the expressions “for God’s sake” and “for Christ’s sake” very often. When we use them, it is to insist on getting something from somebody. We might say: “Give it to me for God’s sake.” Or we might say in frustration: “Why don’t you just leave me alone for Christ’s sake?” But these things are mostly said in ignorance; without our fully realising what they mean. “Father, forgive us, for we do not know what we are saying.”
