When Christians cannot hear the voice of God, we become tethered to the bible. We insist God only speaks through the bible.

As I was driving on a bridge in Lagos, I asked God a question.  When I looked up, I saw the answer boldly written on a billboard.  I was so flabbergasted; I started debating with myself if what I saw was a vision.  Therefore, I went back.

On 28th May, 2004, I was invited to minister at the Holy Ghost Night of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State. The Lord gave me a message entitled: “Electricity;” based on this scripture: “It happened on a certain day, as (Jesus) was teaching, that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them.” (Luke 5:17).

What happens when the promises of men are not fulfilled? We are disappointed. We might even become bitter. What about the promises of God? They never disappoint. Even when they are not fulfilled, we are not bothered because we know that God’s promises transcend time. His word is from everlasting to everlasting. Therefore, God’s promises move us from time to eternity. If they are not fulfilled in this lifetime, it is only because they are slated for fulfilment in the life to come.

The Lord asked me a loaded question.  All the Lord’s questions are loaded.  When the Creator asks the created a question, he should not be in a hurry to answer.

No other person in the bible writes like Paul.  Far more than everybody else, Paul talks about himself.  He is always drawing attention to himself.  His epistles are littered with “I,” “me,” “my” and “mine.” 

Ask a Christian a question about Jesus, and he might answer with a quotation from Paul.  But who tells us Paul speaks for Jesus?  Why do we need Paul to speak for Jesus when Jesus speaks for himself?  Why do we need Paul to speak for Jesus when Jesus himself warns us: “Be on your guard; I have told you everything ahead of time?” (Mark 13:23).  If Jesus has told us all we need to know, why do we need someone else to add to, or subtract from, what he said?

On 21st April, 2013, Douglas Anele wrote an article in Vanguard newspaper entitled: “Femi Aribisala and his Errand-Boy God” in response to my earlier article: “The God who Does Not Exist.”  In my article, I detailed many astonishing things the God Douglas says does not exist did for me.  Douglas’ position was that the God who would do all such things would amount to no more than my errand-boy

When I started editing my book, “Doctor Strangelove” in 2005, I had over thirty chapters to work with. But then the Lord said to me: “Femi, this book will have eighteen chapters.” I took that as a prophecy. I kept my eye on it and was excited when, through editorial work, the book finally shrank to eighteen chapters. I had run with the vision and fulfilled it. Or so I thought.

I was invited to conduct a ten-day teaching programme at a church in Lagos.  Out of the blue, at the beginning of the session, the Lord asked me to lead the congregation in singing a popular Christian song.
