FISON calls for more policing of nation’s waters

The Fisheries Society of Nigeria (FISON) has called on the Federal Government to curb increasing piracy in the country’’s territorial waters to encourage the growth of the fishing industry.FISON’’s National President, Mrs Foluke Areola on Tuesday in Lagos that the sector experienced over300 piracy attacks in the last one year. She said that some of the incidents were not reported.“Government needs to undertake a comprehensive and effective monitoring, control and surveillance of fishing activities in Nigeria’’s territorial waters,””

Expert seeks legal action against CBN for currency devaluation

Following the persistent decline of the value of the naira against major international currencies, an expert in economic matters, Dr. Mashhud Fashola has called on Nigerians to institute legal actions against the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for failing in its duty to ensure stability of the country’s currency and also for its failure to adequately manage inflation.
