Anambra Governorship Election: Ngige, Nwoye, Ubah reject election

The three governorship candidates of PDP, APC and LP, Tony Nwoye, Chris Ngige and Ifeanyi Ubah vowed last night to reject whatever result that would be announced by INEC from Saturday and Sunday gubernatorial elections in Anambra State.

At a joint news conference addressed at 8pm at Finotel Hotel, Awka, Senator Ngige presented the official position of the three contestants on the election.

Anambra Poll: Nwoye rejects results, demands fresh poll

Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Anambra State, Comrade Tony Nwoye, Sunday, rejected the outcome of Saturday’s election, asking the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to cancel the election in its entirety and conduct a fresh election to be personally supervised by the commision’s chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega.
Nwoye told a news conference in Awka that the “the election is far below average and cannot be said to be free and fair” adding that “it was heavily manipulated by INEC in collusion with security agents in favour of Governor Peter Obi’s preferred candidate, Willie Obiano.”
