Taraba State Governor, Dr. Kefas Agbu, has said his administration has commenced the remodeling of livestock farming and production in order to improve local economy and strengthen the livestock value chain across the state.

AS Nigerians hit the streets to protest hunger, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Sen Abubakar Kyari, Wednesday, disclosed that in 180 days food prices will crash.

“In particular, it will work with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Federal Ministry of Industry Trade and Investment, Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Standards Organisation of Nigeria and the Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy.”

The lnternational Finance Corporation and an agribusiness group, Johnvents Industries Limited, have announced a partnership to expand the company’s cocoa processing operations and increase its export capacity to global markets.

“A significant number of our tomato farms have been affected by a severe infestation known as Tomato Ebola or Tomato Leaf Miner. This has drastically reduced the availability of tomatoes and contributed to rising costs.”

AS over 7 million people globally including Nigerians get infected and killed with air pollution related diseases, the Federal Government and development partners, Tuesday, begged farmers to stop farmland burning practices as part of land preparation for crop cultivation.

Executive Director/CEO of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council, Mrs Nonye Ayeni ,has said that they were  aware that trust in ginger farming is low among farmers and exporters and it might take 2-3 years to recover previous export volumes.

“Look at the Ministry of Budget, and I want to challenge Nigerians to look at the budget of the Ministry of Agriculture and I repeat again, Nigerians, take special interest, check the budget of the Ministry of Agriculture and see the extent to which the matters that relates to agriculture are included in that budget.”
