NIITF 2026: Landmark 5th edition of Nigerian-Indonesian Investment and Trade Forum holds October 20, 21

Mr. Ishmael Balogun, President, Nigerian Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The stage is set for the 5th Edition of the Nigerian Indonesian Investment and Trade Forum (NIITF) 2026, a flagship international trade and investment platform organized by the Nigerian Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI), with strategic support from the Office of the Vice President of Nigeria, which has mandated the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) to coordinate and mobilize relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) for active participation and effective intergovernmental engagement.

Scheduled for 20–21 October 2026 in Jakarta, Indonesia, the Forum will bring together government leaders, investors, policymakers, manufacturers, exporters, development institutions and organized private-sector stakeholders from Nigeria, Indonesia and beyond.

A Three-in-One International Business Experience

• Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2026 – Indonesia’s premier international trade exhibition, attracting over 41,000 visitors from more than 140 countries and generating over $22.8 billion in trade transactions annually as of 2025.
• Nigerian Indonesian Investment and Trade Forum (NIITF) 2026 – A high-level platform for driving Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) from Indonesia into Nigeria, showcasing Nigeria’s non-oil export opportunities, facilitating policy dialogue, investment promotion, business matchmaking and long-term economic partnerships.
• Tourism in Bali – An exclusive cultural experience showcasing Bali’s renowned attractions, heritage, landscapes and local traditions.

Under the theme, “Building Continents, Building Prosperity: Solidifying Nigerian Indonesian Economic Partnership for Strategic Alliances and Shared Growth,” NIITF 2026 seeks to deepen cooperation between two influential emerging economies whose combined population exceeds 550 million. Together, Nigeria and Indonesia represent a combined GDP of approximately $10.152 trillion (PPP), underscoring their growing economic influence and the significant market opportunities available to businesses in both countries.

Indonesia is the largest economy in Southeast Asia, while Nigeria remains Africa’s largest economy by GDP (PPP). Both countries offer large consumer markets, youthful populations, expanding middle classes and strong ambitions for economic transformation.

Five Years of Strategic Impact

Since its inception in 2022, NIITF has evolved into an important bilateral trade and investment platform, connecting Nigerian and Indonesian businesses, governments, investors and institutions. Across four successful editions, the Forum has hosted hundreds of delegates, facilitated business matchmaking, promoted Nigeria’s non-oil exports and supported trade partnerships, joint ventures, public-private partnerships, investment commitments, knowledge exchange and long-term economic cooperation.

Since its inception in 2022, NIITF has successfully held four editions across Jakarta and Bali, with the 2024 edition held alongside the Indonesia-Africa Forum in Bali. The Forum has attracted distinguished government, diplomatic and business leaders, including former Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON; H.E. Usman Ari Ogah, Past Immediate Nigerian Ambassador to Indonesia; H.E. Ambassador (Dr.) Usra Hendra Harahap, Past Immediate Indonesian Ambassador to Nigeria; Amb Bambang Suharto, The Indonesian Ambassador to Nigeria; H.E. Dr. Peter Mbah, Executive Governor of Enugu State; and Princess Zahrah Mustapha Audu, Director-General of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), alongside senior representatives of NEXIM Bank, KADIN Indonesia, Nigeria AfCFTA Coordination Office, Justrite Superstores, Sahara Energy International Pte Limited Singapore, Signature Global Real Estate, Nigeria–São Tomé & Príncipe Joint Development Authority, Quaint Energy and other leading private-sector stakeholders.

The 2025 edition further strengthened the Forum’s impact through strategic policy discussions, business networking, investment engagements and the signing of strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs).

Delivering Measurable Outcomes

• Promotion of Nigeria’s non-oil export opportunities to Indonesian markets.
• Facilitation of multi-million-dollar business discussions and investment commitments.
• Strengthening of bilateral trade and creation of strategic partnerships across agriculture, manufacturing, renewable energy, mining, logistics, healthcare, technology, oil and gas, FMCG and other sectors.
• Business matchmaking, factory visits and industrial exposure programmes.
• Government-to-Government (G2G), Government-to-Business (G2B) and Business-to-Business (B2B) engagements.
• Enhanced collaboration among trade institutions, chambers of commerce and development agencies.

• Increased awareness of Nigeria’s investment opportunities among Indonesian businesses.

These achievements have become even more significant against the backdrop of growing trade relations between Nigeria and Indonesia, with bilateral trade volumes reaching approximately $4.7billion as at 2025.

Why NIITF 2026 Matters

Against the backdrop of a rapidly changing global economy and the growing importance of South-South cooperation, NIITF 2026 is designed to convert the shared strengths of Nigeria and Indonesia into practical partnerships that drive investment, job creation, industrial development, technology transfer, export growth and sustainable prosperity.

Participants will gain direct access to policymakers, investors, manufacturers, exporters, development finance institutions and business leaders, alongside high-level panel discussions, investment presentations, factory visits, networking, business matchmaking and strategic roundtables covering agriculture, renewable energy, mining, manufacturing, infrastructure, logistics, healthcare, aviation, oil and gas, digital economy, FMCG and tourism.

An Invitation to Shape the Future

For investors, exporters, manufacturers, policymakers, entrepreneurs, development institutions and business leaders, the 5th Edition of NIITF offers more than a conference—it is a gateway to new markets, strategic partnerships and new possibilities. From Jakarta to Bali, and from policy dialogue to investment deals, NIITF 2026 is poised to strengthen one of the most promising bilateral economic relationships between Nigeria and Indonesia.

The future of Nigeria-Indonesia economic cooperation is not merely being discussed; it is being built. And that future begins at NIITF 2026.
