According to him, “The police are not well-funded. They don’t have enough manpower and equipment. The federal government has so many responsibilities, and the police are just one of them. What we are seeing today is the result of the neglect of the police.”

The union noted that the payment has brought immense relief to local government employees across the state, restored confidence in government, and renewed the morale of workers who had patiently awaited the settlement of the arrears.

“They are making the situation more and more difficult, facing us with more hurdles, but we’re not going to let that stop us from doing our best.”
