Uchechukwu develops digital gifting marketplace

A Nigerian software engineer and entrepreneur, Kenneth Uchechukwu, is developing Royler Voucher, a digital gifting marketplace designed to connect businesses with customers seeking convenient ways to buy and send gifts.

Uchechukwu, who has more than a decade of experience in software development, enterprise systems, financial technology and digital products, is seeking to move beyond traditional voucher distribution through a marketplace model that allows merchants to list products and services for digital gifting.

The platform is designed to address the challenges associated with conventional gifting, which often require customers to contact individual vendors, make separate payments and arrange delivery.

Through Royler Voucher, registered businesses can offer digital vouchers that customers can purchase and redeem for their products and services.

The company said the model would provide merchants with an additional sales channel while giving customers a centralised platform to discover and purchase gifts for friends, family members and colleagues.

“We believe gifting should be simple, meaningful, and accessible to everyone,” the company stated in its public materials.

Uchechukwu’s experience in backend systems, application programming interfaces, cloud infrastructure and application architecture is reflected in the platform’s design, particularly in areas such as transaction security, merchant verification and voucher management.

He described the venture as an effort to apply technology to everyday commercial needs, with benefits for both businesses and consumers.

According to materials associated with the project, the marketplace model is intended to give merchants greater visibility and a digital redemption channel, while offering buyers access to a wider selection of products and services.

Royler Voucher is registered in Nigeria, with plans to expand its merchant network, improve customer experience and explore partnerships to extend the platform’s reach.

Uchechukwu has also indicated interest in expanding beyond Nigeria in the future, while prioritising the development of the domestic market.

The long-term ambition, according to the company’s biographical material, is to establish Royler Voucher as a recognised digital gifting marketplace supporting consumer convenience and merchant participation in digital commerce.

However, its ability to achieve this ambition will depend on merchant adoption, customer uptake and the reliability of its voucher redemption system in Nigeria’s competitive digital payments and gifting market.
