The Zamfara State Commissioner for Commerce, Industries and Tourism, Tasi’u Musa Shinkafi, assured the Non-Indigene Community in the state of his ministry’s readiness to support genuine investors and create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.

He gave the assurance when a delegation of the Non-Indigene Community in Zamfara State, led by its Grand Patron, Chief Igwe Egbuna Obijaku, paid him a courtesy visit to discuss investment opportunities, business development and economic growth.

He assured the delegation that the ministry would look into their request for land allocation to establish businesses, as well as other incentives to stimulate the state’s economic growth, adding that the government was always ready to support genuine investors.

Alhaji Tasi’u called for synergy between his ministry and the Non-Indigene Community to promote the state’s economy and advised them to take advantage of the abundant economic opportunities in Zamfara.

A statement by the Information Officer of the ministry, Jamilu Bello, said the delegation commended Governor Dauda Lawal for his efforts in developing critical infrastructure, particularly the construction of the Gusau International Airport.

They described the airport as a major development that will improve connectivity and make it easier for investors and businessmen from within and outside the state to visit Zamfara.

The chairman of the delegation expressed the community’s interest in investing in Zamfara and appealed to the Commissioner for support in securing land for members to establish businesses and other investment projects.

He also assured the Commissioner that the community would mobilise and encourage investors from other parts of Nigeria to come to Zamfara and explore the various investment opportunities available.

He appealed to the state government to consider providing non-interest loans and other forms of support to enable members of the community to expand their businesses and create employment opportunities in the state.
