ABUJA – Pro-Tinubu support group, the Renewed Hope Labourers Network, RHOLAN, has challenged Peoples Redemption Party, PRP, National Chairman Hakeem Baba-Ahmed’s claim that President Bola Tinubu has failed Nigerians on security, citing military figures on terrorist casualties, mass surrenders and rescued kidnap victims.

The group accused Baba-Ahmed of ignoring reported gains from military operations, including the recovery of threatened communities and the gradual return of normal activities in parts of the North.

In a statement by its Director of Public Affairs, Toby Prince, RHOLAN cited Defence Headquarters figures showing that over 3,000 terrorists and bandits had been neutralised, more than 120,000 insurgents and their families had surrendered, and thousands of kidnapped victims had been rescued in the past two years.

“Mr Baba-Ahmed’s claim that children cannot go to school because of bandits is outdated and misleading. Data confirm that troops have degraded terrorist and bandit capacity, reopened previously controlled territories, and enabled the gradual return of normal life, including schooling, in many affected communities,” the statement said.

RHOLAN said troops also neutralised 554 terrorists and criminals, arrested 1,333 suspects and rescued 1,736 kidnapped civilians in the third quarter of 2026 alone.

It cited the establishment of Defence Special Forces Brigades in Kaduna and Niger states, expanded military operations and improved security measures along the Abuja-Kaduna highway as evidence of the administration’s efforts.

“The Armed Forces have restored security situations in key flashpoints. Communities that lived under the constant threat of abduction are gradually reclaiming their lives,” Prince said.

The group also cited Tinubu’s directive to security chiefs to rescue remaining abductees and eliminate terrorist and bandit camps nationwide, insisting that the administration’s security record should be judged against reported operational gains rather than claims of total failure.
