Nollywood producer and entrepreneur, Thompson Ukeki, has advised Nigerians who own vehicles to consider engaging professional drivers to operate their cars, rather than relying solely on conventional ride-hailing services when they require driving assistance.
Ukeki gave the advice while unveiling King Drive U, a new mobility platform that combines conventional ride-hailing with professional driver-hire services in a single mobile application.
According to him, the platform enables users to book rides for their daily activities while also giving vehicle owners the option of hiring professional drivers to operate their privately owned vehicles for an hour, a day, a week or a month.
“King Drive U is a 2-in-1 application created for both riding services and professional driving services.“
“Through the app, you can book a ride for your daily activities, or you can hire a professional driver to drive your own car for an hour, a day, a week or a month,” he said.
Ukeki said the driver-hire component was designed to address the needs of vehicle owners who require professional drivers for personal, family, business or other transportation purposes.
He explained that users could choose between requesting a conventional ride and hiring a professional driver to operate their own vehicle, depending on their specific transportation needs.
“What makes King Drive U different is the combination of riding and driving services in one application. It is designed to give users more choices and flexibility when it comes to transportation,” Ukeki said.
He added that the platform would also connect professional drivers with vehicle owners and customers seeking driving services, thereby creating opportunities for drivers to secure engagements.
The founder said professional drivers could be hired to operate customers’ vehicles on an hourly, daily, weekly or monthly basis, depending on the requirements of the vehicle owners.
He said the platform was being positioned for an international market, with its service vision extending across Africa, Europe and the United States of America.
“King Drive U is available for download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The platform is designed to cater for different categories of users, including riders, vehicle owners, professional drivers and individuals requiring dedicated driving services.“
“The launch adds a technology-based transportation venture to Ukeki’s activities beyond the Nigerian film industry, bringing ride-hailing and professional driver-hire services under one platform.“
“The platform’s tagline is: “Driving Opportunities, Reliable Rides, Endless Possibilities.”
King Drive U, according to its founder, operates as a two-in-one mobility platform connecting riders, vehicle owners and professional drivers while providing both ride-booking and private driver-hire services.
