Civil Engineering shapes Adeniji’s E-Commerce delivery framework

Ademola Ahmed Adeniji, a Nigerian technology professional, has applied principles from civil engineering to the design and delivery of complex digital systems, drawing on his transition from engineering into business analysis and systems engineering in the United Kingdom.

Adeniji, who holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, has developed an approach to digital business analysis that incorporates concepts such as structural integrity, stress testing and load distribution.

His career in the UK began at Tritek Consulting Limited before he further developed his consultancy methodology at Tiege Consult in London, where he focused on translating complex client requirements into structured technology solutions.

His approach involves process modelling using Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN 2.0) and Unified Modelling Language (UML), data-flow mapping and root-cause analysis before software development begins.

The approach was further applied during his tenure as Digital Business Analyst at Dyson Technology Limited in Bristol, where he worked on multi-region integrations involving SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris), MuleSoft and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

According to the profile, Adeniji’s systematic approach contributed to the implementation of payment platforms across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

He has also been recognised by the Nigerian Technology Awards and Beacon of ICT Awards for his work as a business analyst and mentor.

Adeniji’s career trajectory demonstrates how engineering principles can be applied to digital technology, particularly when combined with technical skills and certifications in Python, SQL and Agile delivery.

Reflecting on his transition from civil engineering to digital systems analysis, Adeniji said the experience reinforced his belief that strong foundations are essential to both physical and digital systems.

“Whether you are building physical structures or digital payment pipelines, the core rule remains the same: the system is only as strong as its foundation,” he said.

He added that his approach to process diagrams, application programming interface (API) requirements and user stories was designed to ensure that digital systems could withstand real-world enterprise demands.
