…honoured with Global Peace Ambassador

By Gabriel Ewepu

ABUJA – THE Southwest Commonwealth, SWCW, Eduversity UK, has appointed Dr Anthony Igbagri, its Abuja representative following his earlier conferment of an Honorary Doctorate of Education by SWCW Eduversity UK.

Igbagri’s latest recognition further underscores the confidence placed in his leadership, commitment to education, community development and service and the appointment is with immediate effect.

In his new capacity, he will serve as the University liaison with academic, professional and civic institutions across Abuja and working closely with the University Nomination Committee to advance its objectives.

As University Representative, he will be responsible for identifying and recommending deserving individuals for the Honorary Doctorate and Commonwealth Leadership Award, while also facilitating university outreach programmes and building strategic partnerships with schools, colleges, hospitals, NGOs and government institutions.

His local insight and integrity will be particularly important in identifying individuals whose contributions in education, healthcare, entrepreneurship, public service and humanitarian work merit recognition.

For effective coordination, he will remain in communication with Dr. Gregory Elayeche Oko, Director of Academic Programmes (Africa), who will coordinate relevant updates, programmes and recommendations with the University.

In another major recognition, Southwest Commonwealth Eduversity Christian USA has honoured Dr Igbagri with the distinguished title of Global Peace Ambassador. The honour was signed by Dr Robert Jackson, Chief Academic Officer, and Dr James Massey, Director of Academic, Southwest Commonwealth Eduversity Christian USA.

The title recognises Igbagri commitment to promoting peace, humanity, tolerance and cross-cultural understanding, while encouraging him to support initiatives that foster dialogue, social harmony and youth empowerment.

The latest appointment and honour have been received with appreciation as another milestone in Igbagri growing association with the institutions.

Meanwhile, he expressed his gratitude to Southwest Commonwealth Eduversity UK and Southwest Commonwealth Eduversity Christian USA for the confidence and recognition, pledging to justify the trust through greater service.

The dual responsibilities are expected to strengthen the institutions presence in Abuja and contribute to their broader vision of accessible education, leadership development, peace-building and global citizenship.
